An interesting thing happened to me as I scrolled through your cold snowy pictures. As I stared into your frozen world, I could smell snow. Smell the way it is when you emerge from the heated house into tha freshness of that clean, cold, snow filled world.
It's been years since I stepped out into the deep snow, yet there... for just a moment..I was.
Thanks, Cate,,

Beautiful. In the top one, I almost fancy I can see Gaia's belly moving as she stretches out in the freezing sunshine.

My view of the first one was two lovers peacefully beside one another.....our valley has just been given its first real snowfall in about 3 years. Many people are complaining - I'm lucky I can get around in it on foot and by vehicle - I think it's beautiful!

I'd like to wake up, open my eyes and have your images the first thing I see each morning

Your snow photo with the trees is exceptionally well done. Your snowdrifts look like dimpled clouds drifting in space and there is a tremendous amount of character in the trees that float amongst them. The ones on the right appear almost as a group of people talking to one another while the bent and wavy one on the left reminds me of an old man or woman. The strong, upright one next to it could represent adulthood, while the two slender trees might be youth. Very nicely done.
