Mama Says Om - Divided

Here and there, up and down, in and out, same and different, now and then, you and me ............... the list could go on and on forever.

All are a single vast entity made of the same stuff, forged from the same primordial stardust and endlessly circling in the great cosmic dance. The notion of independence is a falsehood in which our fundamental non-duality is carved into separate, illusory and seemingly independent realms by fences, strands of barbed wire, lines of demarcation drawn in the earth, walls, guns, affluence and our own obdurate attitudes.

Go beyond such things, and we discover that we are not divided. We only think we are, and there is something melancholy and very lonesome about the fences we persist in building.

Written for the undivided mamas at Mama says Om and a deep bow to Lil.

Contresting textures tell many stories - one sees something different at each look

You have touched on a challenging point -I keep searching for independence and guess keep building my own fences

Right now, there is a human visitor to my house whose very voice I have allowed to irritate me, and drive a wedge even deeper into the imagined divide, to create a barbed wire fence of duality. All thoughts of interbeing and one-ness have flown with my defensive mental strategies.

The closest I can get is that my Higher Self salutes her Higher Self. *sigh*

Thank you for the reminder Cate!

All of my life I have been busy building barriers that I hoped would protect me.
Now I know that all they did was isolate me and make me vulnerable
