Summer Reading

Summer is a comfortable chair on the deck when my chores are done for the day, Beau curled up beside me, a good book in my lap and a mug of tea in my hand.

I read the same stuff that I do the rest of the year, but my summer reading tends to be a little lighter, and there are more forays into mythic fiction, magical realism, modern whodunnits and historical mysteries.

Seasonal reading choices are serendipity and often seem to make themselves, surfacing in my local library, book store bargain bins, village thrift shops, yard sales and the little free libraries that have sprung up everywhere.

My thanks to the Muses for the kindred spirits who occasionally turn up at my door, hand me a bag of reading and ask hopefully if there is any tea in the pot. (There usually is).
