The animal shall not be measured by man. In a world older and more complete than ours they move finished and complete, gifted with extensions of the senses we have lost or never attained, living by voices we shall never hear. They are not brethren, they are not underlings; they are other nations, caught with ourselves in the net of life and time, fellow prisoners of the splendor and travail of the earth.

One of my favorite quotes, except to me they ARE brethren, and that does not reduce or diminish them but brings them closer to us and us closer to them, in right relationship....
"Caught in the net of life and time..." Feels like that doesn't it... Until we "see" with our inner seeing, that there is no net and no time, just the Infinite Spaciousness of Existence living ItSelf here - embracing it all...
thought provoking. feelings put well into words.
and the photo....love it. ❤
Hi Cate
A lovely photo to go with one of my best loved passages from one of my favorite books.
