Thursday Poem - Questions Before Dark

Day ends, and before sleep
when the sky dies down, consider
your altered state: has this day
changed you? Are the corners
sharper or rounded off? Did you
live with death? Make decisions
that quieted? Find one clear word
that fit? At the sun's midpoint
did you notice a pitch of absence,
bewilderment that invites
the possible? What did you learn
from things you dropped and picked up
and dropped again? Did you set a straw
parallel to the river, let the flow
carry you downstream?

Cate, thank you. Storms all night, nature and physical.
Have just come inside after picking up many tree limbs. Day begins...

Lovely poem....."Are the corners shaper or rounded off"? Yes, that is a question I contemplate most nights before drifting off to sleep. I also consider if I'm harder or softer. I work towards being pliable.

Did I let the flow carry me downstream? Sometimes it's the rapids and I have no choice! :) And I love finding "one clear word that fit..."

This little poem is a keeper, a blesser, a light, a portion of the path, the journey.

The end of day inventory of self, oh blessed event.

Thank you and I do love finding one clear word.
