On the surface of it, this is a strange pairing indeed, a serendipitous meeting of the blooming garlic chives in my kitchen garden and great numbers of industrious bees buzzing about and quaffing the nectar.
Perhaps not, for chives, garlic (I adore the stuff) and honey are among the Old Wild Mother's finest gifts to someone who loves to spend time in the kitchen. My kitchen garden is redolent of fragrance around the time of Litha, the lavender, basil, rosemary, chives, coriander and lemon balm (to name a few) sending up tendrils of perfume to tempt the local bees.
