From the Top

Views like this one are the flip side of winter, the other side of the coin from shovelling snow, floundering out to the bird feeders and clearing engulfed walkways between here and there.

One stops the car at the road, straps on her snowshoes and climbs the long hill through snow that is over her waist and unmarked by any signs of travel except for those of the rabbits, the wolves, the foxes and the fishers. The journey is slow going, but there are ravens circling overhead and conversing. There are nesting owls hooting in the woods close by, and turkeys gobbling contentedly in the woods.

From the top, the blue world is perfect as far as the eye can see.

I can not imagine snow that deep and I can not believe how faithful you are to continue to go and search for your pictures.

I'm in awe of how hard you work to share such beauty with us, beauty that must be difficult a lot of the time to live inside. Thank you.
