It was very cold that day. The stream was open because it comes up from deep underground. The water was icy cold, and the snow along the stream was rather surrealistic looking - old hard snow which looked like custard or (better still) the meringue on a Baked Alaska. The stuff was all billows and scallops and curls - it crunched gloriously underfoot, and it smelled wonderful.

This picture is so full of life I feel I could just reach out and touch the snow. When I opened the post I said, "Wow!" out loud.

The snow in this picture does not look real. It has a more solid look, like colored ice. Very different picture.
