Friday Ramble - Trust

Cold, cold, cold and cold again.... Off we go in the morning anyway, and our boots crunch along in the deep snow as we entertain thoughts of sunshine and warmth.

Friday's word for this week is "trust", and I knew the photo would be here long before the word made its appearance and clamored to be recognized. There were other words such as hopeful, cheerful and bright, but "trust" said it all. There was something in the symmetry of the icicles that morning, but more than that, there was something hopeful and very trusting in the red twigs dancing aloft in the wind in their garment of ice.

It's a state of wild and natural grace methinks. The trees are trusting spirits, and we would do well to emulate their contingent and non-essential will, their trust in the Old Wild Mother (earth), the natural order of things and the turning year. They have faith that the seasons will continue to revolve around us and springtime will come again, and so their trusting branches are turning cheery red within their icicles now and putting out tiny buds here and there.

The wind will blow and the snow will fall for quite a while yet, but the trees trust that all will be well. I, on the other hand, have to work at it in late January.

One of the loveliest posts I've read in a long while, and something I so needed to be reminded of. Thank you.

Thank you for your words and photos - the icicles and twigs are perfectly captured - your words of "their" trust speak to the beauty of their being.....the trees' trust is ideal - but I can relate to yours more easily!)

I'm still with ya, sistah! Your choice in words have been uncanny and quite timely for me! Thanks,
