Little Friend on the Fence

He visits the oak trees, the beech trees, the crabapple trees and (most of all) the bird feeders, all in their turn. He takes no sass from the jays, the cardinals, the sparrows or from Cassie with whom he likes to play tag.

He chatters endlessly as I tend the garden and make it ready it for winter - cheerful, bright eyed and very good company indeed.

Good morning,
They are so cute, it reminds me of ours sitting on the fence with a branch of rasberries in its hands. So sweet, they love to chat.

Adorable! I love the white spot on its flank.

Hello, Cate,

what a cute little fellow on your fence, and a nice picture of him.
I have never seen a squirrel with such marked stripes on the back, ours are more reddish or dark colored over here. Or isn't that a squirrel at all?

I had one of these as a pet many years ago. He lived outside, but when I went out to play he would run up to me to lift him up and put on my shoulder.

My wee friend is an elderly eastern chipmunk, and his cheeks are chock full of seed from one of the bird feeders here. When I fill the feeders early in the day, I sometimes stretch out my hand and he hops right into it, chattering a merry "good morning".
