*sigh* I love echinacea and wish I had some in my gardens too...

Cate, I've really enjoyed seeing your WW photos. From someone who always has something to say...it's intriguing to come here, see what you've posted and wonder what was going around in your head...what would you have said under it...and then come up with my own words istead. I've been inspired Cate...and if it's alright with you, I'd like to also have WW on my blog...

Strangely enough, this looks like it could be one of a series of photos I was going to publish on my blog but decided to go with all dahlias instead.

It's a fascinating flower.

Cate, What perfection! It reminds me of the lines by William Blake (I may be accidentally paraphrasing instead of quoting here): "To see a world in a grain of sand And heaven in a wild flower, Hold eternity in the palm of your hand And infinity in an hour." That's what I thought of as I contemplated your lovely image for a few moments.

The Ralph Emerson quote comes to mind "Earth laughs in flowers." Gardens are such a beautiful thing.
