Nevertheless, blooming

Dare I say it?  Yesterday, temperatures here plummeted to freezing, and a light sprinkle of snow appeared out of the grey, occasionally changing to rain. From time to time, there was sunlight for a few minutes, but mostly not.

Precipitation, temperature and wind notwithstanding, the magnolia tree around the corner held out its blooms to the sky, and its perseverance in less than desirable weather conditions was a lesson that one can bloom no matter what, where and when she is planted. Perhaps I will be a magnolia in a future life.
