Lilies of the Woodland

Trout Lily, Adder's tongue or Dogtooth violet
(Erythronium americanum)

  1. Good catch...they are so fragile and beautiful, and fun to look for on walks in early spring. We're into summer already here, so I missed spring wildfowers.

  2. A great favorite - love their dappled leaves and upturned petals. Around here a rarer sight it seems.
