After all Columbus did not discover "America", but Cuba. :) The change in the name seems rather fitting to me. That aside. We here in the Denver area are getting our first snow! The trees are bowed down to the earth, some limbs broken off, because the leaves are still on the branches. But all in all, winter has been ushered in with beauty. Hard freeze tonight, and Indian Summer by the end of the week....

Enjoy your beautiful Thanksgiving Day Cate! Some places have switched the name. It's still a holiday for schools in our town, and some government offices. Most adults don't care one way or another unless they get a day off from work. I was sad to hear via blog that police are protecting statues of Columbus from being defaced in NY city. Are we becoming the people of the east who tear down ancient works of art because they were the heroes or gods or goddesses of an older culture? The little scarecrow lad is really sweet. Enjoy your thanksgiving...we've got another month before we have ours! Doesn't mean I can't find things to be grateful for today!Barbara Rogershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08351113054045427775noreply@blogger.com
