A Gathering of Toms

Scarlet and gold, occasionally purpled and striped, the first juicy heirloom "toms" of the season are the essence of feast and celebration as they rest on the sideboard in the kitchen, fresh-from-the-garden jewels, rosy and flushed and beaded with early morning rain. A wedge of Brie and a few fresh basil leaves are all that is needed to complete both the scene and today's lunch.

I can't think of anything that says summer more than a fresh out of the garden, heirloom tomatoes! :)
