Here beats a winter heart...

Longing for spring and the sound of rain hitting the roof, I ruffle sheaves of captured images like cards and come upon this - a gathering of snowclad tree people gazing out over the highlands as the sun slides below the rolling hills in the distance.

It's an "aha" moment, an awakening, a moment of truth, perhaps even enlightenment. Winter has its own fabulous colors and shapes, and somehow or other, I am going to miss the long white season when it departs.

No matter how cold or snowy it is beyond my windows, and how my creaky old bones protest, here beats a winter heart.

In spite of the warmth of the tones in this, it looks even colder to me.

Well the rosy light seemed warm in the image, Tabor, but it was really cold that day.

We are in the midst of yet another snow storm - I seriously considered deleting the post and calling a shrink.

The long white season. Thank you for finding so much beauty in it to share with those of us who've had nothing but grey rain!
