Dancing Feet Along the Trail

One of the best places to capture a photo of Spencer is a woodland alcove in the Lanark Highlands  where our trail begins a winding climb into the deep woods.

In summer the trail inhabits a realm of deep emerald light shaded by the old trees leaning over it.  In winter it's a sweep of glistening snow and long shadows from the same trees, now bare and whiskery.  In autumn, the place is ankle deep in fallen oak and maple leaves, and it's awash in color. The fallen leaves rustle and crackle underfoot delightfully.

From here, our lovely boy's expressive profile, happy ears and wide grin, his shiny coat of many freckles, his waving tail and dancing feet,  - all are eloquent and visible in my viewfinder and lens.

A sweet photo showing that our fur babies are just as cute from behind.
