I remember when I was a child, my mom would cut a magolia blossom off of the tree in our front yard for me to take to my teacher. I was chased by bees to the bus stop and all the way to school. Such wonderful memories...........

we had our first to bloom here on our property this spring. i have missed them so much from my southern days, so last year we purchased 3, a purple bloomer, a yellow bloomer, and a dwarf called a teddy bear magnolia that looks like a smaller version of the southern grandiflora. i could hardly wait until spring to see what happened. paradise! we floated magnolia blooms in large, shallow glass bowls in GA, and the rooms always seemed rather exotic with that amazing fragrance swirling in the air.
