On the Threshold of Autumn

Monday morning and pale clear skies with a high thin veil of wispy cloud, a storm predicted this afternoon with son et lumière, whole quivers of lightening, window rattling thunder, high winds and torrential rains.

Here we are, already at the gate of September, and I have been thinking for a few days that it is high time that I posted a flowery summery threshold image.  In only a few weeks, the welcoming botanical displays now on our front walkway will be over for this year. Our doorway lovelies are fading away, and it will not be long until they have expired and returned to the earth from which they came.

How quickly time seems to fly away... On the first day of September, a large bronze chrysanthemum will come home with us and take its place on the threshold, or perhaps several will make the trip. It is always difficult to choose just one from the wonders on offer.

Have I mentioned that autumn is my favorite time of the year?

Autumn is my favorite season too, Cate. Happy Monday.

Mums are not blooming yet in my area. About 2 or 3 weeks I will make my purchase :)
