Swans on the Rideau river are Mute (Royal) swans, the descendents of six pairs given to the city of Ottawa by Queen Elizabeth II in 1967 to commemorate the Canadian Centennial. The birds spend their summers on the river and return to winter lodgings at the Leitrim nursery when the river freezes over in December.
Beautiful picture!! Enjoyed reading about their history there, too.
Such elegance is stunning...
That makes me feel so peaceful.
The curve of a swan's neck is such a beautiful thing...
So peaceful and beautiful.
Oh.. So mystical. It brngs to my mind about the various ancient lores we have read and heard over years in India!
