Morning's Rite of Comfort and Warmth

It is sunny here this morning for a change, but the temperature is below zero, and the burgeoning buds of springtime have folded up or fallen away prematurely.
Drastic measures are called for, and who says I can't have a Florentine or three with my morning cup of French Roast anyway? The combination is sublime.

absolutely! in mho Florentines go with ANYTHING.... :) Bon appétit!

If it's any consolation to you, we have lost some 400 camellia and azalee blooms in one morning when cold winds tore them off their branches. Never in my 4 years here have I had so little flowers on my shrubs and bushes.... Hopefully they will do better next year!

Maybe that should be "morning rights":) You have a "right" to comfort and warmth - especially under those drastic conditions. :) Yum. They look delicious! Below Zero!!!???

The Florentines look wonderful.

At a gardening seminar, the presenter said that the freak winter storms and frosts are nature's way of pruning. I like to think that is for old growth trees, not for our fragile domestic gardens.

I need Florentines and a beautiful cup of coffee.
