Among the Snowy Trees

Among the snowy trees I feel at peace. Among the snowy trees I seek answers to life's toughest questions, and among the snowy trees I am able to yield up just a little more of my worldly concern.....and I come away blessed.

Cindy, I could not agree with you more - yesterday it was cold and snowy under the trees and the wind was icy, but how peaceful it was.

I agree with Cindy, there is a stillness of peace among the snowy trees. Even from a photo I can feel it, and she expressed it perfectly,..."able to yield up just a little more worldly concern...". I could never put it into words why natures beauty is so important to me, the way it makes me feel. Thanks Cindy.

Beautiful photo, "Among the Snowy Trees".

Thank you!

Cindy expressed my thoughts about this scene much better than I could. I would love to have those tall evergreens in my yard, and I'm workiing each season to add to my 'natural' world. Thank you for sharing a place that I can come to while I wait for mine to grow.

Send some of that snow down to Florida! All we get are wet, cold trees =(

After reading the journal entry about the trip to the gorge at Dalhousie Lake, I started to remember something that Barbara Brennen mentioned in her book, "Emerging Light." She writes about orgone, and how it makes people feel better.

I looked up "orgone" on WikiPedia, to learn more about the chemical. The article mentions psychoanalyst, Wilhelm Reich, and his defining orgone as giving one an experience of orgasm. The article also mentions that orgone could be the same as chi.

I notice that I am drawn to early morning walks, while the city is still silent. Sometimes I walk along the Wisconsin River, where I can see trees, sky, and feel the fresh air from an earth that has rotated through the dark and is coming into the light. Without claiming that my walks are orgasmic, I can certainly claim that the walks are invigorating and shift my creative self into infinite possibilities.

It appears that this group has a deep appreciation of cold, snow, ice and the trees.

A cathedral of snow and trees but much greater than any man-made structure. This is a beautiful picture and I, too, can feel the quiet holiness.
